外國(guó)人是如何翻譯中國(guó)俗語(yǔ)的？

    中國(guó)俗語(yǔ)對(duì)于很多外國(guó)人來(lái)說(shuō)可能就望文生義了，翻譯起來(lái)更是與眾不同，不妨來(lái)看一下外國(guó)人翻譯的那些中國(guó)俗語(yǔ)：

    1. 蘿卜青菜，各有所愛(ài)。
　　翻譯： Turnip greens, all have love.
　　意思：Every man has his hobbyhorse.
　　2. 酒發(fā)心腹之言。
　　翻譯： Wine made confidants of the words.
　　意思： In wine there is truth.
　　3. 肉包子打狗。
　　翻譯： Hit a dog with a meat bun.
　　意思： Punishment is not as an effective incentive as reward.
　　4. 三個(gè)和尚沒(méi)水喝。
　　翻譯： Three monks have no water to drink.
　　意思： There are too many cooks in the kitchen.
　　5. 死馬當(dāng)活馬醫(yī)。
　　翻譯： Save a dead horse by pretending it’s alive.
　　意思： Nothing is impossible.
　　6. 天高皇帝遠(yuǎn)。
　　翻譯： The sky is big and the emperor is far away.
　　意思： When the 貓 is away, the 老鼠 will play.
　　7. 有錢(qián)能使鬼推磨。
　　翻譯： If you have money, you can make the devil push your grind stone.
　　意思： Money is power.
　　8. 小洞不補(bǔ)，大洞吃苦。
　　翻譯： A small hole left unplugged will make you suffer a big hole.
　　意思： A stitch in time saves nine.
　　9. 狗改不了吃屎。
　　翻譯： Dogs eat shit.
　　意思： A leopard can’t change its spots.
　　10. 見(jiàn)人拉屎屁股癢。
　　翻譯： Seeing other people shit makes your butthole itchy.
　　意思： Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

    是不是有點(diǎn)望文生義的意思呢，或者說(shuō)單看英文是很難想到其表達(dá)的俗語(yǔ)意思。這也是文化差異在翻譯中的表現(xiàn)，每個(gè)譯者都要考慮到文化色彩在翻譯中的運(yùn)用。
